I agree with the previous reviews, this is indeed a great place to explore and learn. Though it is indeed kid friendly, it is not ideal for those with very young children. As you are literally going through the ship or sub....so strollers aren't going to help, going up and down the steps and through narrow passage ways. Also if you are claustrophobic you may want to wait on the deck for others to explore all the other levels of the ship. With that said, it is an awesome place to spend the day. It is a place that we have taken our children too and will return again when we get the chance. My dad served in the Navy, though not on the Alabama or the sub that is on display there, but it allows me the opportunity to see how navy life was and to share with this granddaughters part of the history of his life, as well as the life of our country. The planes, tanks, etc. and even the sub are a nice addition to the park, but the true gem is the USS Alabama. It can get hot in Mobile du

Allow at least 4 hours to tour the USS Alabama and USS Drum. There is so much to see on the Alabama, it is almost overwhelming. The ship's history comes to life as you explore deck after deck. Be forewarned, the ship is uncomfortably hot in summer (except for the theater room which is air conditioned) and there are a lot of narrow passages and stairs - watch you head and step passing through the bulkheads! The USS Drum is fascinating for those intersted in submarines, but try to walk through when it isn't crowded. There is a hangar full of aircraft, and there is a very nice gift shop. The Alabama is a sight to behold as you drive into Mobile; it is well worth the time and cost to spend a day there.

this is by far one of the MOST interesting things I have been able to do in Mobile. This ship is filled with history, and many exciting events took place around it. Take a field trip of kids there, or just go alone - you're sure to have a blast hanging out on the deck of the USS Alabama! And the submarine is there too, another great jewel! the whole park is kid friendly, and prices are great!!
